Abstract:

In today's world, competition in market becomes so intense. Regardless of the physical location of manufacturer, the competition scope is worldwide, so it is important to understand where we stand among our rivals–as Iranian manufacturer- in the world market. Nowadays, environmental aspects of company's activities are an inevitable part of enterprises' strategies. It's widely accepted that, company's green policies and long-term market survival and financial performance are convergent. Pioneer companies combined innovation with green strategies and invented green innovation, which brought them distinctive competitive advantage and enhanced their brand image. Other companies should respond to market demand for green products as the nation's awareness and green group's expectation increases. They should analyze the environmental aspects of their activities, eliminate the emissions or reduce it to acceptable levels .In this article, we review the green innovation definitions and its evolution in time, and then we review the path ahead of Iranian organizations to greening their processes and become more competitive in world markets
