Explicit bending analysis of an axially loaded beam-type structure using GDQM abstract
The objective of the present paper is to represent an explicit bending analysis of a dynamic axially loaded beam-type structure using generalized differential quadrature method (GDQM). To this end, the Euler-Bernoulli beam equation is employed to determine the beam deflection in various time steps. Furthermore, the GDQM has been used as a higher-order approximation to discretize the governing non-linear equations. As the type of loading on the beam is dynamical, considering Newmark’s integration scheme is essential to solve the transient equations. Ii is found that the present study shows the relation between material properties and elastic response. Moreover, it can be seen that the convergence of GDQM as a numerical method is considerable.
