Abstract:

Due to sensitivity to time and frequency synchronization errors and loss of orthogonality of the signals and reduce the efficiency of communication systems, using appropriate methods for synchronization in OFDM receivers is critical. In this paper, a general method for timing symbol synchronization based on both non data-aided and data-aided for wireless OFDM systems is presented. In the presented model, the synchronization is performed with the combination of coarse and fine estimation. To reduce the acquisition time and obtain a general approximation of symbol timing offset, at the first, the synchronization parameters are estimated before FFT block with coarse estimation. Then, fine synchronization is performed after the FFT block to obtain the exact offset and achieve high accuracy.
