Abstract:
Natural gas impurities like water, CO2, H2S, COS, mercury & N2 have to be removed to meet transport specifications. Amines processes are the developed technology available today for the removal of acid gases (CO2 & H2S). MEA, DEA & MDEA have been selected as commercial solvents. In the present study the effect of amines flow rate, inlet gas pressure and water loss for Siri Island NGL recovery sweetening processes is studied using HYSYS simulations. It was found that the lean amine flow rate to absorber increases as pressure decrease which eventually leads to higher energy requirement during the regeneration process. The optimization work found that the use of (MDEA %04w/w) may consider the most recommended process for Siri Island NGL recovery plant. Schematic of plant is shown in Figure
