Forced vibration response of Euler-Bernoulli beam subject to a concentrated moving load using rectangular impulse load abstract
An approach for evaluating the forced vibration response of Euler-Bernoulli beam excited by a concentrated moving load is developed in this research. The components of the stiffness matrix for the Euler-Bernoulli beam element are derived using the conjugate beam concept and Betti's theorem, and finally represented in closed-form expressions. Then, forced vibration response is obtained under a moving load with a constant velocity. The forced vibration response may be calculated by the modal expantion method using the determined eigenvectors obtained by eigenvalue analysis. The proposed approach is employed through one cantilever beam.
