Abstract:
file One of the most important subjects of the modern urbanism is the rapid population growth and it's following hastily City expansion. Not only urban policies but the economic, social and environmental issues of many urban areas have also been influenced by this phenomena. Inrecent years, the application of transit-oriented development (TOD) concept to urban development has been proposed based on the planning principles of smart growth and sustainable development. The development of appropriate design techniques for thesurrounded built environment of TOD has become increasingly important as TOD concepts apply to urban development. The purpose of this study is to test the global theory of smart growth in two sampled districts of Tehran in which to determined that is compatible with thesituations of the Iranian districts, and can use to enhance environmental qualities, especially the city of Tehran or not?. In this study, Firs, the common principles of smart urban growth in the neighboring units were derived from different theories and then, the compatibility of therelevant principles or structure and performance of the districts Imamzadeh Hasan and Azeri located in Tehran's district 17 were analyzed. The results showed that the applicable and Many of these principles his principles could be used for organic formation and developmentof the target communities
