Application of Generalized Multipole Technique to Perfectly Conducting Scatterers with Sharp Edges abstract
A modified generalized multipole technique for conducting scatterers with sharp edges is proposed. Using a proper packing procedure the method introduces additional multipoles located near the sharp edges of the scatterer to reduce the error related to the edge conditions. For reduction of errors a modified packing number for squares is defined. To verify the soundness of this method the currents computed on the surface of the scatterer with our method is compared with the results obtained using the MoM. Computed back-scattered radar cross section (RCS) of square cylinders of various sizes is also presented. The computed RCS is almost independent of errors existing at the boundaries of the scatterer.
