Control of Instability Dayyer Port Quays abstract
Port Dayyer is one of the most important Fishery Ports of Iran. It is located in the Northem Part of the Persin Gulf in Bushehr Province. Part Dyyer was substantially reconstructed in 1994-1996 by the Iranian Fasheries Corporation. The newly built quays, which are made of concrete blocks, were extensively utilized by a large variety of fishing vessels. in 1999, sections of the newly built quays that were being used by larger fishing vesels became unstable and began to move towards the basin. The movement caused large cracks that extended along the surface of the damaged quays, which prompted port authorities to stop their utilization. This paper presents the cause of the instability of the quays, the procedure for finding the most suitable alternative for their stabilization, the construction method, and the results obtained.
