Abstract:

In the present study, a dynamic model of a novel radial-flow pattern of the sweeping gas and the paraffin feed assisted with membrane concept named as radial-flow membrane reactor (RF-MR) for heavy paraffin dehydrogenation is developed, mathematically. In this configuration, some subsections areinserted into the cross section area of the industrial radial-flow tubular reactor (RF-TR). The hydrogen perm-selective membrane layer is used on the walls of the gaps to separate hydrogen from the reaction side and enhance the olefin production rate. Dynamic result reveals that hydrogen removal from heavy paraffin dehydrogenation in RF-MR leads to a significant enhancement in olefin production compared to RF-TR.
