Cultural Mission of University, a Step toward Thinking, a Step towards Perfection:A new view on higher education management

University is the intersection of three domains including culture, power and knowledge. Undoubtedly, educational system operates in the society and culture and trades with them continuously. One of the most important functions of the university is to realize the scientific and cultural attitudes, deepen the culture of tolerance, conversation and collective work, freedom, human rights, solidarity and social-moral responsibility, promote cultural diversity and richness and scientific theories to solve global problems and crises. Understanding the importance of academic curricula can increase the capability of this institution comparing to other institutions. University as a complicated cultural institution and normative center helps moral, social and scientific systematizing of the society and is responsible for improving the quality of life and maintaining dynamism and vitality of the society. This great social institution acts the leading core of scientific and cultural developments; through observing social and cultural changes, especially in the field of science and technology, prepares and empowers the society to dominate on the future uncertain events. In such conditions, it is expected that cultural heritages perceived, criticized, evaluated and expanded more than before in educational systems. This goal is not achievable unless according to Hirsch s theory of cultural literacy, the mission of education system becomes familiarization of new generation with the minimum knowledge, attitude and skill providing possibility of sympathy or national cohesion foe everyone in society. Of course, global cultural literacy is considered in the age of globalization that is considering perception of other nations, trying to expand peace and friendship among nations, saving mankind and moving toward mutual understanding of nations in addition to recognize and respect subcultures are all considered as major cultural mission of university. Maybe it is the time for actualization of Plato and Comenius longtime wish to form a commission including all nations for preparing universal books, schools, college and language for the sake of humankind survival
