Abstract:

Accumulative roll-bonding process (ARB) is the only severe plastic deformation (SPD) process using rolling deformation itself for the industrial production of ultrafine grained (UFG) sheets with higher mechanical properties. In the present study, The ARB process used for manufacturing Al/SiO, nanocomposites by using Aluminum 1050 alloy sheets and nano sized SiO, particles, up to 8 cycles at ambient temperature. The tensile strength and microhardness of produced nanocomposites were investigated in different cycles. The results show that by increasing ARB cycles and amount of nano powders, the tensile strength and hardness of the produced nanocomposites increases.
