Abstract:
Earthquakes are the fatal disasters created by the energy releasing in the Earth s crust thatmakes seismic waves. The best place for the occurrence of potential earthquakes is inactive fault zones, which are known as the major cause of most earthquakes. To reducethe major cause in a nation, the evaluation of active faults is done using the seismichazard map and the earthquake shaking potential for the nation, which represents theseismic data and the earthquake likelihood of faults needed to recognize all the ready-torupturefaults in the nation. Then, due to a distinct approach, by an innovated engineeringmethod, the ready faults are strengthened using some patches installed on the Earth s crustin the fault line. These patches are able to resist against the fault slip that causes anearthquake, reduction of the fault slip rate that affects the earthquake magnitude, and alsoabsorbing part of the released energy from the ground shaking that reduces the seismicwave propagation; mitigating the earthquake hazard and promoting the public safety.
