Organizational Competence in Project Management A Comparative Study of OCB1 and OPM2 Standards

According to the recent approach of world-famous project management organizations for releasing two standards known as organizational competence baseline (OCB) bythe International Project Management Association in 2013 and organizational project management (OPM) by Project Management Institute in 2014, and due to inattentionto this subject, in this paper we review the concept of organizational competence inproject management, then introduce and make a comparative study on these two standards as the only standards which have paid attention to project managementorganizational competence up to now. It is hoped that in this way all differences of them are known and subsequently the concept of organizational competence withrelevant elements will be developed in project-based organizations. This study shows that OCB standard mostly pays attention to organizational competence elements (What) while OPM standard mainly focuses on how to implement organizational competence (How).
