Efect of high pressure feed water heater on the energy efficiency and exergy efficiency of a steam power plant abstract
In the initial design of the steam power plant to enhance the efficiency, inlet water temperature to the boiler is raised by feed water heaters. With eliminating these feed water heaters from steam power plant cycle, efficiency will be changed. This paper aim simulation and analysis of the effect of the high pressure feed water heater on the efficiency of a steam power plant with individual unit capacity of 200MW. In order to evaluate the performance of each of the feed water heaters, the impact of removing high pressure feed heaters have been discussed. The results show that the overall cycle efficiency is 35.57%, which the efficiency reduces up to 35.37% by removing high pressure heater No. (7) , reduces up to 35.38% by removing high pressure heater No. (6) and reduces up to 35.49% by removing high pressure heater No. (5) . Also, the efficiency with simultaneous removal of heaters (7) and (6) and (5), will reach to 34.79%.
