Abstract:

Splendor and beauty of Iranian (Persian) architecture, especially in the Islamic period depends on its decorations and adornment. Islamic noble arts, from decorative and applied arts to building the largest religious buildings have a special significance. Decorative arts such as mirror work, brickwork, stucco, tile, stone carving, woodcarving, and painting have spread throughout the Islamic era and have been improved based on the features and opportunities of the time they were belonging to. In Islamic architecture by applying the rules of mirror reflection in the mirror work of hallways and ceilings was trying to direct more light into the building. Among them can be mentioned all religious buildings remaining from Safavid era. It is noteworthy that mirror work is quintessentially an Iranian art and during the Qajar period has come into prominence. Appreciation of beauty, love of beauty and the need to create an artistic structure would be born of emotional states and are triggered by conscience. Aesthetics should be social, mental and historical.
