Abstract:
This paper proposes a two-dimensional target trackingalgorithm via Underwater Wireless Sensor Networks(UWSN) with the acoustic waves. Some challenges such assystem and sensor uncertainties and limited energy sourceare studied in this paper. By applying the Extended KalmanFilter (EKF) and Unscented Kalman Filter (UKF), themeasurement noise is filtered and the target path isestimated. As a comparison, the target path is also estimatedby geometric approach. As the simulation results illustrate,the filtered path matches on the target’s real path curve.Furthermore, this paper uses a scheme to reduce energyconsumption of the network during target tracking in UWSNwhich is called sensor selection.
