Effects of Modulus Ratio on seismic behaviour of an arch dam abstract
In this research, dynamic analysis of seismic performance of arch dams have been presented consideringinteraction effects to quantify sensitivity of seismic response to Modulus Ratio of foundation to the concrete. San-Fernando ground motions has been applied to the model. The Morrow-Point double curvature dam was selected ascase study and the dam-reservoir-foundation has been modeled base on finite element method to considering the effectsof modulus ratio of foundation to the concrete on the system. The seismic performance of arch dam was assessed usingdisplacements of dam crest and principle stresses results from dynamic analysis. It was shown that the displacement ofdam crest and priciple streses are sensitive to variations of modulus ratio.
