Using Gene Sequences in Modern Plant Phylogeny abstract
Molecular phylogenetics is the branch of phylogeny that analyses hereditary molecular differences, mainly in DNA sequences, to gain information on an organism s evolutionary relationships. The choice of molecular tool is of paramount importance to ensure that an appropriate level of variation is recovered to answer the phylogenetic question at hand. In this review, we have been trying to discusse about gene markers that used in the plant phylogeny at various taxonomic levels.
