Study on Waste Water Treatment Using Electron Beam Irradiation abstract
In this research, wastewater treatment using electron beam are described, including chemical aspects of the process, biological aspect of process and process technology. The global current problem onenvironmental health in relation to water pollution insists for the safe disposal of waste. In general, waste water and comprises of heterogeneous organic based chemicals as well as pathogens. The electron Beam (EB) treatment of the waste water was found to be veryeffective in reducing the pathogens as well as organic load. The EB dose of 1.5 kGy was sufficient for complete elimination of total coli forms. The present study demonstrated the potential of ionizingradiation for disinfection of waste and to increase the water quality of the wastewater. Additionally, the irradiation of waste water can find its application either in agriculture for irrigation or in industry sector for cooling purpose or in both the sectors.
