A survey on reviving industrial heritage on its fixity in Esfahan

With the development of cities in 1960s and translocation of the factories to suburban, the old factories lost their importance in a way that some of them have been destroyed and converted to commercial centers. It is intended that regarding to historical value of these sites which are reminiscent of a period of city life, a new life would be endowed to them and with reviving and giving new and active applications, their destruction to be prevent. These factories have historical value and each keeps many urban memories in its heart and shows a period of city life therefore its destruction would also damage urban texture. Thus, fixity of industrial heritages in the course of time directly would be influenced by giving them an application. Other researchers have investigated this issue from different aspects such as converting them to the museum or other passive applications. Also in other countries like U.S, by integrating with parks, industrial heritages have been brought among people. Leila Pahlavan Zadeh, in the book treasures of industrial heritages has identified and surveyed them from historical point of view. This paper however, for the first time evaluates industrial heritages from an active aspect and their past prosperity and with investigating different and active applications, tries to put the life of these forsaken heritages as an effective member of the city among people. Data gathering methods were field study and literature review and research method was based on previous studies about Risbaf factory, then evaluating different applications on the study specimen and finally choosing the best fitted application.
