Abstract:

This contribution discusses a site selection process for establishing a urban park. It wassupported by a value-focused approach and spatial multi-criteria evaluation techniques. Urbangreen spaces are well qualified for both social returns and ecological efficiency. The mostimportant effect of green space in urban areas is their environmental functions or ecologicalreturns. We used the following criteria: slope, elevation, distance from gas station, distancefrom river, distance from medical center, distance from educational center, distance fromparks distance from roads, distance from fault and land use. Maps of each layer was preparedby using IDRISI standard setting method and Fuzzy logic. For weighting and combining thelayers we used AHP and fuzzy operator’s method. Choose a location for parks and urbangreen space is a complex process which inevitably use different tools to make decisions, suchas geographic information systems (GIS) and multi-criteria decision-making methods such asusing Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) is . In this study, to determine suitable locationsfor construction of the park in Tehran of criteria including access, distance from factories andindustries, distance from existing parks, distance from health centers, distance learningcenters, distance from gas stations, faults and proximity the river was used. The final maps asOr, And, gamma and Product was prepared. Finally, the ultimate maps of evaluating theecological capacity of green space development was classified into three categories: suitable, relatively suitable, and unsuitable
