Investigation of the electrochemical hydrogen storage behavior ofCuO-CeO2nanocompositeprepared by green capping agent abstract

In this study, CuO-CeO2nanocomposites were synthesized via decomposition method using (NH4)2Ce(NO3)6 and CuSO4salts as cerium and copper sources, respectively. The effect of reaction time on the morphology and the particles size was studied.CuO-CeO2nanocomposites were characterized via x-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and infrared spectrum (FT-IR). The crystal structure of the CuO-CeO2nanocompositewas studied by XRD pattern and the average size of crystallites calculated by Scherrer formula was around of 20-25 nm at 600 ͦC. We studied the effect of CuO-CeO2nanocompositeon hydrogen storage. The hydrogen storage capacity of CuO-CeO2nanocomposite in 1mA current and 11 cycles obtained 2400 mAh/g.
