Abstract:

Background and purpose: Breast cancer is the most common cause of cancer deaths in 40-44 years old women. Also, this disease is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women, after lung cancer. Every year one or two more new cases of breast cancer per 1,000 women are diagnosed. This study aimed to determine the levels of 25-hydroxyvitamin D in women with breast cancer referred to the oncology department of the hospital in Sanandaj monotheism and its association with prognostic factors in 1391 were carried out. Methods: It was a cross-sectional (descriptive) study Which included all patients with breast cancer in 1391, admitted to Tohid Hospital Oncology Department. Sampling methods is available in the records of 80 individuals (number available) were estimated. For data analysis, SPSS V.18 statistical software used. In the descriptiveanalysis, descriptive statistics were used in the formulas. To evaluate the prognostic factors associated with the chi-square test was used for variables. Results: The research findings showed that the level of serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D was insufficient in 45% of patients. Conflict between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D and estrogen receptor (ER) and progesterone receptor involvement (PR) and Neurovascular involvement with p <0.05, statistically significant relationship exists. Between serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D and Tumor Grading, Staging, tumor histology, tumor involvement of HER-2 and p> 0.05, there is no statistically significant relationship. Conclusion: Possibility to develop breast cancer in women with decreased serum concentration of 25-OH Vit D is more than others.Side effects of breast cancer are more probable in this women than others.
