Climate change impacts on water availability of rivers to Central Asian countries from Tien Shan and Pamir

Am darya, syr darya, and chu rivers supply water to five central asian countries and are the main sourcse of aral sea ever increasingly deterioration aral sea enverionment and severe water disputes among the conuntries make the river flow changes the foucs of scientific water disputes among the contries make the river flow changes the focus of scientific community in recent years. the large scale glaciers in the headwater region of these rivers are especially interested by the glaciplogists and hydrologists due to their sensitive response to climate change and the consequent impacts on water availability to the downtstream users. this talk will present our research results of the changes of the glaers, melt water and its contribution to the stremflow, the changes of streamflow from 1960s tioll the end of the 21 st century, and the implocations of the findings to water users and policy makers in this region. this talk will present the lates achievements of other researchers in this region as well.
