Abstract:

Amol is one of the oldest cities in Iran, Mazandaran province, which is located in the north of Iran, and itshistory dates back to the pre-Islamic period. The city with an area about 3000 square kilometers and apopulation exceeding 370,000 includes the old and famous neighborhoods that have a religious,commercial, and service with a long history background. Considering the importance of these buildingsand the need for their preservation and restoration on the one hand and the occurrence of manyearthquakes in the past centuries, as well as the recent earthquakes of the last century, on the other hand,in this paper, it has been investigated historical and instrumental recorded earthquakes within a radius of150 km around this area the first, Considering the fault status. Then, using probabilistic relations of theseismic hazard analysis of the Kijko 2000 computer program, the seismicity parameters and the returnperiods of the earthquake magnitudes are obtained for this range, and at the end, the horizontal peakground acceleration is zoned for the Amol city.
