Investigation the flow field around a building in wind tunnel abstract

In this research the flow field around a building has been investigated experimentally. All the tests Here done in the open loop wind tunnel of the Shiraz university. An obstacle was set in the entrance of wind tunnel to make a thick boundary layer. The flow field was measured around the surface mounted block with length and wide of b and height of 0.3b. The ratio of blockage in the wind tunnel was 1.2% and the ratio of thickness boundary layer to that of building height is 4: 1. Also a building which is mounted supported with height (0.1 b) has been compared with previous test case. The comparison between two cases shows that the reattachment length in the back of the supported building is smaller than that mounted on surface. Flow field and reattachment length are effective factor in distribution of aerosol and sand particles around the building. Therefore the supported building can be a good propose to reduce accumulation of aerosol and sand particle around the small buildings in the near desert villages.
