Abstract:

In the age of information, the institution of education is one of the first institutions that have undergone major changes and university programs for adapting education and learning to technology seem vital. E-learning as a new paradigm has transformed this area. Given the great potential of this educational system alongside the huge demand for education that cannot be responded due to the incapacity of the current educational system, there is no doubt about the importance of using e-learning. Given the recent growth of information technology, this study used the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT) to examine the main factors that could prevent or encourage the use of e-learning systems by students. This model enables scholars to assess behavioral intent about e-learning systems and carry out further studies on system acceptance. The results of investigations showed that the performance expectancy, Hedonic motivation, habit and trust are among the key predictors of the intention to use technology. Also, the results indicated that effort expectancy and social influence led to an increase in acceptance of e-learning systems among students. Facilitating conditions that are decisive factors in the use of technology could increase the acceptance of e-learning systems among students.
