Abstract:

Supplying the load while getting the maximumbenefit and minimum cost is the key objective of the Energymanagement systems for the microgrids. In practice, the prediction of the intermittent renewable generation and loads arenot exact, and are considered as uncertain factors. For dealingwith these uncertainties and making the system less sensitive touncertainties, scenario-based robust design method is employedin this paper. Robust programming ensures the least acceptablebenefits in the presence of uncertainties and large violation oftheir predicted amounts. In this study, scenario-based robustenergy management is proposed, in which the scenarios aredesigned by Taguchi’s orthogonal array testing method. Robustenergy management system for a microgrid with uncertain inputvariables is defined as getting the minimum desired benefiteven when large deviations of uncertainties from their predictedamounts occurs. In this study, maximum total cost in the presenceof uncertain renewable generation and load is considered in theworst-case scenario for robust management. Typical microgrid isconsidered for showing the effectiveness of the proposed method, and GAMS software is used for the optimization.
