Abstract:

The notion of Smart City, aiming at enhancing urban quality of life by novel technologies, has been acquiring increasing attention worldwide. Although it has various aspects today, mixing with Sustainability make it noticeable urban development strategy for professionals. To be sustainable, it is really indispensable to emphasis on pedestrian and non- motorized movements. In all likelihood, diverse changes will occur in the context of smart cities. Novel technologies, however, provide a suitable context for walking socially and physically. In this respect, the focus of this research is what are the most significant impacts of novel technologies on walkability in urban public spaces And the purpose of this study, as considering probable impacts, can be reached by doing comprehensive review on the literatures to extract and conducting a cross- sectional study to finalize the impacts. The results show that apart from unique services available to walkers, there are such challenges as level of physical activity, sense of omnipresent control, probable Invalid data, and defective perception of the place.
