Relationship between effective time management skills in sport manager with organizational creativity

Abstract:

Background: The purpose of this research was survey of relationship between effective time management skills with individual creativity in Iranian physical education department. Materials and Methods: The statically population consist of all firms in physical education office (n=180) that participated voluntary in this research. The number of n=147 employees elected for research random ally. In order to analysis the employee s creativity, the Amabil (1996) creativity questionnaire was used. The skill of time management measured questionnaire that consist of 6 sub- scales daily planning, confidence on long-range planning, Goal- setting, Perceived control of time, Tenacity, Preference for disorganization. To analysis the data after use of K_S (p≥0.05) and convinced about data normality, t test, the regression test and Pearson coefficients were used in significance level of (P≤0.05). Results and Discussions: The results show that there were significant difference between creative and non- creative employees in long-range planning (t=2.35, sig=0.004), Perceived control of time (t=2.62, sig=0.031), Tenacity (t= 3.71, sig= 0.006), Preference for disorganization (t= 2.61, sig=0.042). But there were not any difference in daily planning (t= 1.47, sig= 0.082) and goal-setting (t= 3.49, sig= 0.0671). The result of regression test showed that perceived control of time (β= 0.27, p≤0.05) and long-range planning (β= 0.23, p≤0.05) have higher effect on employees creativity. Conclusion: Finding in this research and similar researches indicated that there were direct and significant relationship between ability of time management skills and employee’s creativity. It’s seems that short time management skills beside self-regulation strategies have a great relation with employees’ innovation. Also researcher proposed that because that lack of efficient time is the most important problem in the context of creating new ideas in different organizations, managers should allocated special place and time (house thinking) to proposed the new ideas by employees. Therefore, use of time management skills preventing of interaction time management programs and avoids wasting time
