Performance analysis of Angle Diversity Receivers using Specular Reflections Model abstract

In this paper, we apply two practical designs of angle diversity receivers namely pyramid receiver (PR) and hemispheric receiver (HR) in indoor visible light communications (VLC) system and aim to find optimal azimuth and elevation angles. It is essential to consider the effect of wall reflections because in scenarios where the receiver is moving, channel gains are weak especially in locations far from the center due to the lack of line of sight (LOS) paths between the transmitters and the receivers. Thus, we consider wall reflections using specular reflection model. According to the results, LOS with specular reflections model mitigates bit error and improves multiple-input-multiple-output (MIMO) VLC system throughput
