A Short Study: From Visual Attention toward Image Retrieval Systems abstract
During two last decades, the field of image retrieval received more study from computer science and other related field. The main goal in image retrieval systems is image understanding by machine, from which researcher focused on how human understand and view images to construct a conceptual algorithm. A basic step in this way is attention process. Human use attention process to understand images and make bridge over low level features. Visual attention can lead us to detect important region and recognize objects in images. In this paper we focused on visual attention concept and review three major attention models and how attention models can improve our image retrieval systems.
