Primary multifocal extranodal non-hodgkin s lymphoma of breast and ovaries: a rare entity

Primary extranodal lymphoma is much less frequent than nodal lymphoma. Breast andovarian lymphoma commonly present with additional nodal lesions. Primary lymphoma ofthe breast or the ovaries without nodal disease is uncommon.We described a case of extranodal non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma with large breast mass lesionand bilateral ovarian mass without any lymphnode involvement on CT scan images. Paraffinimmunohistochemical staining studies of both breast and ovaries lesions showed strongpositivity of the neoplastic cells for CD20, CD45, BCL2 and MUM 1.Tumor cells were negative for the T-cell markers CD5 and CD3. No immunoreactivity wasnoted with staining for the following markers: synaptophysin, epithelial membrane antigen,cytokeratin and vimentin. These findings were in favor of diffuse large cell lymphoma of Bcelllinage.This is the first report of the coexistence of both breast and ovaries non-Hodgkin’s lymphomain the same patient without any lymph node involvement.
