Applicable spectrophotometric determination of trace amount of lead in human blood serum of miners by fast and precise liquid-liquid extraction method and comparison with AAS method

Abstract:
In order to remove the interference of blood proteins and other compounds, Silica gel columnwas used for preparation of human serum of miners by washing the column with deionizedwater, adjusting pH with phosphate buffer and then adding tartrate and cyanide solutions asmasking agents, the extraction of Pb (II) from the aqueous phase into the organic phasecontaining Dithizone as a complexing reagent was performed by shaking the appropriate testtube for two minutes. Then the complex Pb (II)-Dithizone was determinedspectrophotometrically. Calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.1-1.5 fJ.g ml-1 of Pb.The results were in good agreement with those obtained by atomic absorption spectrometryresults.
