Case report: Primary alveolar soft part sarcoma of bone abstract
Introduction:Alveolar soft part sarcoma, a malignant soft tissue tumor, involves most often the deep softtissue of adolescent commonly in the thigh and leg. Not infrequently, a metastasis in the lungor in another organ is the first manifestation of the disease.Case presentation:A 21 years old male that complaint from limping and pelvic bone pain from three monthbefore performance of core needle biopsy with weight loss and decrease range of motion inhip joint. MRI of pelvis revealed a large lobulated destructive mass (12x10x10 cm) with itsepicenter in right iliac bone. Core needle biopsy of right hip mass was done for this patient.The pathologic diagnosis was Alveolar soft part sarcoma of iliac bone.Conclusion:Alveolar soft part sarcoma accounts for fewer than 1% of all soft tissue sarcomas.Histogenesis of this strange neoplasm has not yet been indefinitely established. Alveolar softpart sarcoma is one type of mesenchymal neoplasm that have exceptionally presented asprimary bone lesion. This case can serve another example as a reference point for the medicalstudent in the future.
