Evaluation of IDH1 G105 Polymorphism in Iranian Acute Meyloid Leukemia patients

Aims : The aim of this study was to investigate the frequency and prognostic value of polymorphism rs11554137 in IDH1 gene in Iranian patients with AML.• Methods: Genotyping analysis was performed on AML patients using direct sequence analysis of PCR products amplified from IDH1 exon 4. The survival are presented in Kaplan Meier curves with log rank test. The level of statistical significance was considered as P < 0.05. • Result: IDH1 SNP rs11554137 was found in 6.25% of AML patients .There was no association between the SNP and patients age, sex, presenting WBC, FAB subtype, complete remission rate after induction therapy, disease free survival and overall survival.• Discussion: IDH1 SNP rs11554137 frequency in our population is lower than that in the other populations. Further study with a larger population is required to confirm the findings and to evaluate Impact of this polymorphism in relation to other genetic factors .
