Abstract:

In this work, polybenzimidazole (PBI)/solfunated poly (phthalazinone ether ketone) composite membranes wereprepared by solution casting method. A 120 h life test of a fuel cell prepared from PBI/solfunated poly (phthalazinone etherketone) composite membrane was carried out at 120 °C with a current density i = 300 mA/cm2. During long time test, the i–Vcurve measurements were conducted every 8 h. The fuel cell performance of the composite membranes was investigated indifferent RH and temperatures. The cell voltage stayed fix without any decay during 100 h. The composite membranesdemonstrated high proton conductivity and chemical stability. The power density of the composite membranes at 120 °C obtained0.41 W/cm2, which was suitable for PEM fuel cell applications
