Modeling of Local Scour Depth at Ski- Jump Bucket Spillways Using Kernel Based Approach abstract
One of the main causes of failures of hydraulic structures such as bridges, ski-jump bucket, piles and drainage-crossing structures is scouring. An accurate prediction of scour depth around these structures is of great importance. So far, numerical studies have been conducted to predict this phenomenon, however, acceptable results have not been provided yet. In this study, local scour depth at ski-jump bucket spillway is investigated using a kernel based approach (SVM). The obtained results showed the desirable performance of kernel based model in comparison with the regression equations and it was found that the SVM model is more reliable
