Abstract:

troduction: Tuberculosis (TB) is an infectious disease leading to death and one of major global health problem. TB spreads person to person through the air and infects the lungsand other organs. Primary tonsillar tuberculosis is an uncommon entity. Case presentation: In this survey, we describe the case of a 18-year-old woman with cachexia, fever, a sore throat, and neck lymphadenopathy, with normal laboratory testresults. A pathological examination revealed a caseation granuloma. Based on this finding,anti-TB drugs were prescribed. The patient’s symptoms resolved following the treatment. Conclusion: Primary tonsillar TB accounts for less than 0.5% of TB cases and is,therefore, a diagnostic challenge.
