In this cross sectional study, Diet was assessed with a valid and reliable semi-quantitative food frequency questionnaire. Beck Depression Inventory-second edition was used to assess Depressive symptoms. Then, the relationship between fish intake and depressive symptoms was assessed by Logistic regression method. Results: Binary logistic regression model showed that fish consumption was inversely associated with odds of depressive symptoms in women. After adjusting for a potential confounding factors, such as age, family size, education level and family income, Individuals, who consumed fish frequently had lower probability (OR=0.65, 95%CI=0.35 to 1.20) of depressive symptoms than infrequent fish consumers. Conclusion: The findings indicate a negative association between fish consumption and the risk of depression in women. However this relationship was not statistically significant.
