Techno-Economic Improvement of Gas Recovery Operation through Integrating Production Processes abstract
This paper compares a simulation of integrated gas reservoir with its stand-alone simulation which is just a reservoir simulator. The Integrated simulation is consisted of gas reservoir, well, pipeline, and surface facilities model. This study contrasts two simulation methods to explore whether the integration process makes more real the gas reservoir behavior. This is important for a precise forecast of the future behavior of reservoir. We consider different gas production scenarios for the gas reservoir integrated model and select the most profitable scenario according to the economic and also technical considerations. In doing so, we use an economic evaluation based on Indices such as Net Present Value(NPV), Internal Rate of Return(IRR), and Modified Internal Rate of Return(MIRR) in decision making process given different scenarios. Although, the gas production and economic analysis of the stand-alone simulation model shows a better outcome than its equivalent integrated model, but this study shows that changing gas production scenarios in the integrated model can lead us to better techno-economic results which is closer to reality than the stand-alone simulation model.
