Investigating the methods of flood control and management instruments

Floods are one of the most disastrous natural disasters that, according to global reports, each year account for more than a third of deaths. Floods also cause financial losses, such as the destruction of structures, buildings, products, and livestock and poultry. In order to prevent or reduce flood effects, methods such as construction of different structures have been done. in the state of Iran, flood as a natural disaster has caused irreparable damages each year. In this article, an overview of the four major flooding phenomena in the years 90 to 93 in the city of Behshahr in the province of Mazandaran has been reviewed The inconsistency of the city s streams with inlet floods due to unconventional construction The seizure of the riverbed by the landlords, the lack of line-ups in the upstream of the river, and the existence of urban bridges that were not only functional as water, but also as a barrier to passage were among the most effective factors in the damage caused by these floods.
