Abstract:

The present paper is a detailed study of Molloy, Malone Dies, and The Unnamable based on theJungian psychology. In this study, Jung’s major theories of archetypal patterns and its associatedconcepts are employed. The traces of leading archetypes are the hero’s Quest, Return to paradiseand Rebirth. The Quest which consists of Shadow, Anima and the wise old man, the Return toparadise, which refer to mother womb that the hero tries to Rebirth. This paper proposes thathow these archetypes influence on characters’ conscious behavior and show the source of alltensions refers to the internal world then represented in the external world, and the only solutionfor settling these tensions is making balance between different archetypes.
