Abstract:

In this paper it is aimed to compare urban planning cultures between developed and developing countries. It is known that sustainable development greatly affected development in every field. Increase in number of population in developing countries lead to expansion of cities. Development in cities is analysed and compared together. Unsustainable development in both developed and developing countries is occurred. However urban developments in developed countries are indeed more based on sustainability principles. In order to understand the difference of urban planning cultures in developed and developing countries this paper aims to compare and study planning cutlers in developed and developing countries.Planning today both generally and with specific relevance to town planning is an integral part of all societies today. The challenges of sustainable development can be summarised to three important factors: First, managing environmental impact, Secondly, Social responsibility, finally, economic development and long-term viability of investments.Several forms of planning cultures exist in the world. Each of them have adapted and reflected in local conditions. However that does not mean they are perfect. Studying various forms of planning in different countries can help to find the best planning culture.
