Abstract:
In this paper, the effects of fluid flow on the free vibration of functionally graded tubes is investigated. It is assumed that tube is made of functionally graded materials where the material properties vary through the radius. Using the Hamilton’s principle and Euler-Bernoulli beam theory, equations of motions are derived. Resulted equations are solved using DQM. Finally the effect of material properties and fluid parameters on the natural frequency is investigated in detail. It is concluded that, there are no apparent changes in the natural frequency of FG tube versus variation of mass and velocity of fluid. Also, increasing the mass of tube reduces the fundamental frequency of FG tube. In addition, increasing the index of GM decreases the fundamental frequency.
