The Effect of Two Adjacent Building s Distance on Top Floor Displacement by Considering SSI abstract
This paper evaluates the effect of two adjacent tall buildings distance on the top floor displacement by considering soil-structure interaction under seismic excitation and compare it with fixed base situation through finite element method. There are two variables that are assumed in this research, the first one is the distance of buildings and the other is soil type. The dynamic response of structures models are comparatively evaluated through time-domain analysis. It is found that by increasing the distance between two buildings the indicated displacement will decrease and converge to a constant amount
