Therapeutic efficacies of stem cells in the treatment of Multiple Sclerosis

Background and objective:Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a complicated, demyelinating and also neurodegenerative disease. A kind of undifferentiated cells that produce various cell types are stem cells. Lots of data represents the potential of stem cell therapy for various neurological disorders such as MS. Our study aim to focus on the existing data of stem cells in association with immunomodulatory role of them on the immune system. Search Method:In this review, PubMed, Science direct, Scopus databases and also Google Scholar were searched by keywords: ( Stem cell , Multiple Sclerosis , Regenerative Medicine ) from 2016 to 2019. About 17 of 38 selected studies were used for writing of this article with inclusion criteria best match keywords/article abstracts . Findings:Mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) are ideal candidates for regenerative medicine. About Bone Marrow Stem cells (BMSCs), correction of neuronal imperfections are as results. Induced pluripotent stem cells (IPSCs) can treat brain s cortex defects. Conclusion:Our studies represent that there are a lot of hopes to treat MS patients by stem cell therapy.Using stem cells seems to be a helpful tool for MS treatment.
