Incubation time dependence of Azo reactive yellow 145 decolorization by G26 bacterial strain isolated from wastewater textile industry

The textile industry, due to the use of diverse methods and chemicals, creates a different quality and quantity of waste that increases its importance in refining. Colors, especially Azo dyes, are more important than other contaminants due to toxicity and mutagenicity and carcinogenicity. In this study, decolorization ability of Azo-Reactive Yellow 145 dye by G26 strain bacteria isolated from textile wastewater was investigated in three times (24, 48 and 72 hours) using UV-Vis spectroscopy. This bacterium showed the highest percentage of decolorization (79 %) at 50 ppm concentration of dye, after 48 hours of heat treatment
