Abstract:
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an autoimmune disease, primarily affecting young females. [1, 2]. Pregnancy in a woman with SLE remains a high risk situation with higher maternal and fetal mortality and morbidity. Whole duration of pregnancy and the first 6 weeks following delivery. [3] Thrombocytopenia is a hematological manifestation of SLE [9].Association of thrombocytopenia with more severe disease and higher disease activity has been noted in several studies in non-pregnant SLE patients [4]. However, there are limited number of studies on the course and outcome of SLE patients with thrombocytopenia during pregnancy.
