An infrared nanolaser or terahertz nanolaser ( FIR laser , terahertz laser ) is a nanolaser with an output wavelength in the range of 30–1000 μm (frequency 0.3–10 terahertz), in the far infrared or terahertz band of the electromagnetic spectrum. Infrared nanolasers are used in terahertz spectroscopy, electromagnetic imaging, and also in fusion plasma physics detection. They can be used to detect explosives and chemical agents , using infrared spectroscopy , or to assess plasma density using interferometric methods. Infrared nanolasers typically consist of a long (1–3 m) waveguide filled with gaseous organic molecules, pumped optically or by HV discharge. They are very inefficient, often requiring helium cooling, high magnetic fields, or are only tunable. Efforts are underway to develop smaller solid-state alternatives. Infrared Nano Lasers The inferared Nano Laser is a tunable, solid-state, infrared laser. This nano laser operates in crossed electric and magnetic fields at liquid helium temperatures. Wavelength selection can be achieved by varying the applied electric/magnetic fields or by introducing elements inside the cavity

Infrared Nano Laser is a solid-state semiconductor laser that can operate continuously with an output power of more than 100 mW and a wavelength of 9.5 μm. Its prototype has been previously demonstrated. And the potential use has been demonstrated. Infrared Nano Laser can also operate with far-infrared wavelengths.Nano can be optically modifiedto produce terahertz pulses.

Conclusion :
Infrared Nano Lasers are widely used among different types of nano lasers, having the highest average power among nano lasers. The reason for this wide application is high efficiency, reasonable price, and they are used in various industries. The working wavelength of this nano laser is 6.10 micrometers, which places this laser in the category of wide wavelength nano lasers.
